The City of Santa Clarita Transit has many types of vehicles to get you where you want to go. All our buses are wheelchair accessible with wheelchair lifts. Our fleet represents the latest in bus technology ranging from Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueled to 60’ articulated (bendy) buses, to over the road commuter coaches.
Articulated Buses

In 2007, the City of Santa Clarita purchased two 60’ articulated buses. These buses are known as “bendy” or “catapillar-like”. They are fueled by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and carry 60 passengers seated. These buses can be found in Santa Clarita providing local service.

New Flyer Buses

The City of Santa Clarita currently owns 14 NewFlyer buses. Acquired in 2005, these buses were the first of the City’s fleet to use Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and sit low to the floor so passengers can enter the bus without using stairs. These buses can be found in Santa Clarita providing local service.

Gillig Phantom Buses

The Gillig Phantom is the “work horse” of the City’s local fleet. The City currently owns 28 of these vehicles, which run on diesel fuel. These buses can be found in Santa Clarita providing local service.

MCI Buses

The City of Santa Clarita’s fleet of MCI buses is used almost exclusively for Commuter Express transit service. Our 29 buses travel out of the Santa Clarita Valley to locations such as Antelope Valley, Downtown Los Angeles, Warner Center, Van Nuys and Century City. This fleet is commonly referred to as “over the road coaches” as they provide a small amount of comfort including padded seats and overhead bins to store items during your ride.

El Dorado National Van

The City of Santa Clarita currently owns 4 El Dorado National vans for use in our Dial-a-Ride service. Dial-a-Ride provides curb-to-curb shared ride service to citizens of the Santa Clarita Valley. Dial-a-Ride is for people who are unable to ride a regularly scheduled City of Santa Clarita Transit bus because of a disability. Many people need special help to get where they want to go. They may be an elderly person who is not able to walk several blocks to a bus, or to transfer from one bus to another. Maybe they were injured in an accident and need a wheelchair to get around. Or they might have been born with a condition that makes it difficult to understand how to get to different places on the bus.

Hometown Trolley

The City’s Hometown Trolley joined our fleet in 2007. The American Heritage Streetcar features authentic turn-of-the-century styling, with Philippine mahogany and antique brass trim, and transit necessities such as two operator-controlled doors and a wheelchair lift. This bus is primarily used for special events such as the Holly Jolly Holiday Trolley and special shuttles to various city facilities.
