Amgen Tour of California – Service Delays

Local Transit Service Delays

The Amgen Tour of California will also affect the City’s local transit service.

On Tuesday, May 14th, riders can expect to experience significant delays aboard the following routes:

Routes 1, 2, & 7 between 12:30-1:30pm.
Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 14 between 2:30-4:40pm. Routes 4, 5, 6, & 14 will be closed at Magic Mountain heading eastbound during that time period.

On Wednesday, May 15th, riders can expect to experience significant delays aboard the following routes:

Routes 1, 2, 3, & 7 between 12:15-1:00pm

We are sorry for any inconvenince caused by these delays. Riders are advised to please plan in advance if you are expecting to board any of these routes during ATOC events.

Bus Stop Closure
Beginning Monday, May 6, 2013

Due to construction of the new park and ride, the bus stop on Valencia Blvd. outside the McBean Regional Transit Center will be closed. This closure affects routes 791, 792, 794, 757, and 501.

All 501 and 757 patrons, please board your bus inside the Transit Center.

All 791, 792, and 794 patrons, please board the bus at the bus stop on McBean Parkway behind the Galaxy Car Wash.

Effective February 20, 2013, Railroad Café in Newhall will no longer be selling or reloading TAP cards.

McBean Transit Center – Pedestrian Sidewalk Closed

Due to construction of the new park & ride facility, please be aware of the changes to bus bay locations at the McBean Regional Transit Center.

Interagency Transfers Available for Purchase on TAP Only – September 1

Beginning September 1, Santa Clarita Transit will no longer sell Interagency Transfers on paper tickets, and require that all Interagency Transfers be loaded onto your TAP card. Interagency Transfers will remain $.55 and must be purchased at the time of boarding. Interagency Transfers are valid for one ride and activated when boarding any connecting TAP-friendly transit agency within two hours from the time of purchase.

Interagency Transfers are good for a $1 discount to the full cash fare on all Santa Clarita commuter routes. Santa Clarita Transit will continue to accept Interagency Transfer paper tickets sold by other connecting transit agencies.

TAP cards are made available for purchase at 11 locations throughout Santa Clarita and at all METRO rail stations.

NEW – LA County TRANSporter Service from Santa Clarita to Antelope Valley

The North County TRANSporter is your connection to destinations all over Southern California. Designed to connect transportation services between Santa Clarita Valley and the Antelope Valley during off-peak hours, the North County TRANSporter provides eight trips each weekday between the Newhall Metrolink Station and the Palmdale Transportation Center. Funded by Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich and in partnership with the Antelope Valley Transit Authority, this new service is conveniently scheduled to connect passengers with Metrolink trains to Downtown Los Angeles and beyond. The North County TRANSporter will also connect to Santa Clarita Transit’s NoHo Express Route, allowing passengers to easily access the Metro North Hollywood Station where connecting service to subway and rapid bus is abundant.

EZ Pass is Moving to TAP!

EZ transit pass is moving to TAP on August 25th.

All paper EZ transit passes will on longer be available to purchase online.

You must now have a TAP card in order to purchase your EZ transit pass from EZ Pass Sales locations in the City of Santa Clarita. These locations can be found in both the Santa Clarita Transit Local and Commuter schedule brochures and online at santaclaritatransit.com.

If you are a Senior/Disabled rider, please be sure to apply now for a Senior/Disabled TAP crd so you can continue to buy your EZ transit pass at a reduced rate.
